Can anyone tell me the hours the market operates? Is it only Saturday and Sunday?

The market opens everyday but most shops open only during the weekend.

Don%26#39;t go too early, aim to get there around 11am or 12pm as the merchants aren%26#39;t early birds :) I%26#39;m not sure about close time as I always leave the place by 4 or 5pm.

The market is not open every day, only part of it selling plants is open during the week. The market proper opens weekends only. Not sure of exact hours but around 8am-7pm. JJ Mall, which is an air-conditioned mall selling similar items is open daily and is in Kamphenphet Road at one side of the market.

The famous ';Chatuchak Weekend Market'; is only really open Saturday and Sunday. A few of the weekend vendors open Fridays for wholesale business.

Wednesdays and Thursdays, the market becomes a plant market. If you go those days, this is what you will see:

';JJ Plaza'; is an area between Chatuchak (';JJ';) Market and JJ Mall. This area is open 7 days and sells mostly home furnishings and accessories. There is also a pets and pet supplies area.

';JJ Mall is north odf all of this. It is air conditioned and much more like many of the othe malls around Bangkok. In my opinion, in itself, it%26#39;s not worth the trip.

One nice thing is that the mall%26#39;s toilets are free.

All three are on this photo. It was most likely photographed on a Monday or Tuesday because of the empty ';alleys'; throughout the main flea market.
