i am travelling to thailand mid april and want to spend a week relaxing on the beach and snorkelling. having read some other posts it seems that different sides of thailand have more suitable weather at different times in the year. can anyone enlighten me on what the weather/sea will be like in april and where is the best place to go?
beach holiday in mid aprilApril is pretty hot all over Thailand. We spent our honeymoon in Khao Lak and Bangkok in April a few years ago. Was very very hot and sunny with dramatic thunderstorms in the later afternoon. We are going to be in Krabi next month and have basically been told by locals on this forum to expect very hot and sunny weather. I think you are bound to have great weather on the East or West coasts this time of year.

They do amazing private snorkeling trips - we saw some of the best places we had ever seen just past Bamboo Island. We actually camped there but you can do it as a day trip as well.
that looks like a nice trip. i fancy camping on the beach. does anyone know a good place to stay for nice quiet beaches with beach hut accomodation and good snorkelling off the beach not far from krabi? is this too much to ask or have a just described the whole of the coast?
April is getting towards the end of the season so the weather can be a little variable. You could expect afternoon thunderstorms so it is advisable to book longtail boats with that in mind.
