Thank you all for your information about Koh Lipe and Mountain Resort. We have decided not to stay at this resort, or on that windy side of the island. We are looking at 2 other options now. Again, any feedback on these would be much appreciated:
(1) Castaway Resort on Sunset Beach www.castaway-resorts.com. It looks nice with cabanas right on the beach, but is is more expensive than most. I also read some comments that the beach is not as nice for swimming as the water is rougher.
(2) Sanom Beach Resort on Pattaya Beach http://sanombeach.com/. This is much less money than Castaway. We%26#39;ve read that the water and beach on this side is better for swimming and snorkeling. The beach seems more private with less boat traffic, but still very close to the main beach and restaurants on Pattaya. The resort is very new (2007) so there aren%26#39;t many reviews or much information about it on the internet.
If anyone has any information to offer about these 2 places we would really appreciate it. We are favouring Sanom at this point because of price. However, Castaway does have a restaurant so would not have to go out to get coffee and breakfast in the morning. We hope to leave by first week in April.
