Mountain Resort Koh Lipe

My wife and I are planning to be in Koh Lipe late March-early April. We were interested in staying at the Mountain Resort. There are both positive an negative reviews on Tripadvisor. We were wondering if anyone who%26#39;s been there but not posted a review has any comments? Perhaps even someone locally who knows about the resort can comment as well. We aren%26#39;t travellers that need to be pampered or expect 5 star service on a small remote island. But basic ';good'; service and helpful staff is always nice to have. We generally like the less hectic paced locations, quiet beach, so this side of the island appeals to us..Also, is it safe to walk on the path after dinner from Pattaya Beach as long as we have lights? Any helpful comments would be appreciated. We posted this once and received no replies. Some information would be appreciated.

Dont waste your money! I just returned with my family and was promised a serene experience. They gave away our room on the last night because of a big thai group. We had stayed for 6 nights! No apologies, no smiles! Just a %26#39;sorry, you have to checkout%26#39; not even a ride to the other side, our complaints were met with blank stares! The food in the restaurant was mediocre and the local staff, although cute, watch too many Britany Spears videos to be of any help. We had heard so many great reviews and their website looks attractive, but we would definately not reccommend it!!!!

I agree with the previous post, although the location is terrific, they have squandered it by not giving a flying f*** about their guests, the service is poor, the food and drink expensive and average quality, it%26#39;s noisy from the passing longtails and a steep climb up from the beach. I thought the bungalows were horribly furnished (but I know others will disagree) and unless you can get the one of the 5 or so front bungalows which do have a breathtaking view (I had booked one of these, but didn%26#39;t get it when I arrived) then it%26#39;s really not worth considering in my opinion.

As far as walking back from Pattaya beach, it%26#39;s perfectly safe and would take 30 minutes

Thanks for all your feedback. We will reconsider Mountain Resort. We have a couple in mind and will post another forum about them to get some feedback.
