Planning a trip to Layana resort early next year. Please can anyone tell us if there are any bars and restaurants nearby?

The beach at Layana is brill,

we go next week for our third trip,

it realy is as good as most reviews say.

You can get all types of food at local beach restaurants as well as in town ( Saladan ).

As for prices etc I can%26#39;t realy comment as It%26#39;s

been 3yrs since our last trip to Layana.

We just got back from our third trip to Layana. We paid about $10-15 per person per night for our meals (we only ate breakfast at the hotel). Favourite resto%26#39;s were (in order):

- Lanta Seafood (Saladan) - great prices (order the Larb Gai and Som Tum from the Thai language menu)

- Tom Klauy - on road behind Khlong Dao beach - great authentic Thai food and live music

- Thai Cat (Long Beach) - esp. fried Shrimp cakes

- Same Same (right at end of paved road towards South of KL) - but reservation needed in evening and bad mosquitos - papaya salad with chicken

- Suza%26#39;s - great lassi%26#39;s, special Thai spicy salad was also yummy!

Tip - none of the beach minimarts sell beer, 7-11 sells beer after 5pm only (I think it%26#39;s becasue it%26#39;s a muslim area), but there%26#39;s also a minimart on the road South of Layana towards the 7-11 and Brit Cafe that sells cheap beer.

just returned from Layana on 6th March... fantastic place. My fav eating places were red snapper, about 5 minutes by taxi. The frog in Saladan, 10 minutes by taxi, time for lime, 5 minutes by taxi, but to be honest we didn%26#39;t have any bad meals. Loads to choose from. Enjoy!

Stayed there a couple of years ago and, unusually for us, we ate most of our meals there. The food was truly excellent and was not expensive (which was probably why we chose to eat there). Great choice of hotel.
