Phuket Golden Sand Inn `Is this a good hotel` any info?

Hi

We are thinking of booking the Golden Sand Inn for xmas 2009 but can`t find many reviews on it. We picked this because of its fab location right opposite Karon beach which is where we want to stay.Is anyone familiar with this hotel? Not looking for the lap of luxury but don`t want a sleazy backpacker type place either. Photos of the pool etc look nice, rooms look a bit old but as long as the bed is comfprtable and clean I`m sure they would be fine. Grateful for any first hand info if anyone has been there. Or if anyone has any suggestions to a mid priced alternative in the same area please let me know.
