Beach parties?

Hi all,

I%26#39;ll be heading to Pattya late April/early May. Does anyone know if there are any beach parties held either in the day or night? I am missing the full moon beach party on the other island by 1 day! is there something similar (probably not on the same scale!) in Pattaya or close by in cab?

There are various activities during the year but nothing like the New Moon parties. Most events are things like music festivals, barbaques,etc. Generally the beaches are best avoid after dark.

Every night is a party in Pattaya. You might catch Sonkran if you are lucky.

There are other festivals every now and then but not the dope smoking type parties you get at the full moon parties on Koh Phangan.

Every now and then there are special bands and other youth type attractions on the beach. Ties up traffic something fierce!

Best thing about Pattaya is that the hotels are cheaper than the other places, plus the restaurants are pretty good and cheap too! Best of all baht bus songtaew rides are only 10 baht. So getting around is pretty cheap. Bus from Ekamai bus station in Bangkok is only around 115 for the 2 hour VIP bus ride.

Get a hotel room not far from Pattaya 2nd Road, also known as Pattaya Sai Song. This way you can walk to may places. Pattaya also has modern malls, street vendors, travel agencies for tours, movie theaters and of course lots of bars in all price ranges.

i%26#39;ll miss the songkran festival in pattaya as i%26#39;ll be in bangkok for a few days during this time :( i assume its big in bangkok as well? might be able to catch it here :)

i heard jomtien beach holds afternoon beach parties every sunday, but not sure how true this is?

For Sonkran expect to get wet and covered with white powder! Wear clothing that can be washed easily, keep electronic gizmos locked up at the hotel or wrapped in plastic. Same for your wallet, keep it in a plastic bag. This is a water festival!

The bus from Pattaya to Jomtien is 20 baht. I think there is some Gay oriented beach parties in Jomtien but I only heard this. Individual bars have the occasional party every now and then.

You will have a livelier nightlife in Pattaya City than in Jomtien.
