Most of travelers won鈥檛 know that there are protests and meetings of the red shirts going on in many provinces in Thailand.
Thinking the new protests might affect your travel plans, I now post a new topic.
08 Mar: Khon Kean
14 Mar: Ayutthaya
15 Mar: Chanthaburi
21 Mar: (tentative) Chiang Rai
22 Mar: Chiang Mai
Please note that the red shirts will travel from other provinces to the venue one day in advance and one day after the event and there will be thousands of Police being sent out to watch security.
Today they will protest against Prime Minister Abhisit during his visit to Lop Buri:

New red shirt protests and your travel plans
No need to worry about red shirt protests in Chiang Mai. They are usually subdued and relegated to a particular area. They also appear to be losing steam. Their protest are not directed at foreigners.
New red shirt protests and your travel plans
These protests are highly unlikely to affect any tourists, even in Ayuddhya and Chiangmai.
You don%26#39;t have to worry. On March 22, the redshirts activities will be at the stadium, out of down town.
