patong or karon?!?!! im first time visiter

hi plz i wanted to ask which beach do u reccomend in phuket..i have offers for both holiday inn in patong beach and hilton arcadia in karon beach...which do u reccomend n why plz ...thxx

I am not sure of the hotels but I stayed on Karon Beach when I was there in January. It was CLEAN and not crowded. It is a amazing beach. My guesthouse was right across the road which was handy ... Patong is apparently very busy but I am not sure if that is the kind of thing that you like.

Its what you want.

If you want a good beach that is rather quiet then Karon. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the main drag in Karon.

If you want a busy beach as well as hustle and bustle then Patong.

Is anything else important to yo such as halal food. I notice you are posting from Egypt.

It is a pity you only have those 2 places.

As others have said, patong is busy for nightlife, shopping etc, Karon is quieter.

Neither of those hotels are %26#39;on the beach%26#39;, both are located the other side of a beach road.

What time of year are you going ? There really are so many choices and nice places to stay, if you care to mentioned your budget (?) though from the places you have mentioned I would say that you should be able to find other laternatibves to considor. A choice out of just 2 is very limited.

For a honeymoon there are lot of nice places, do tell us time of year, the differences in seasonal hotel rates are substantial !

It depends when your coming to phuket, at the moment the arcadia is only running at about 30% occupancy and karon can be pretty dead in low season, the hilton in patong is on the beach but you pay 5 star prices for everything, drinks, food, room service the lot.

sunset beach resort in kalim is as good a 3 star as you%26#39;ll get anywhere.

ill b going in july...n these two r from my travel agency offers...but they asked me if i want another hotel...so thats why im askin..about the budget it will b in the same range for these two...n id love to stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel

July is right in the low season. There will be very good deals available. Do note weather that time of year as swimming off the coast can sometimes be rough, take not of red Flag warnings at that time.

Decide though first on beach area as going from one perhaps quieter beach area for an evening out in a lively area, i.e Paton can cost you anything from US$20-28 return. Also depends if you want to often go out in the evenings.

Look at Le Meridien because that is on it%26#39;s own cove with lovely beach, but, it is only about 5-7 minutes from busy Patong should you want lots of shopping and evenings out. You should get a good deal.

Note also that it is %26#39;on the beach%26#39; and the number of places that are %26#39;on the beach%26#39; is not that many.

Hilton Arcadia in Karon and holiday Inn Patong are both across the road from the beach.

If you can tell us your budget it does help so much and also decide if you want busy/quiet beach area.

i cant determine the hotel budget alone coz i have the flight budget...thats why ill book with a travel agency to fit my budget with the flight n hotel..

ill b in my honey moon so i want to have fun but yet not in a v crowded beach...a medium crowded beach is ok..

just if u was a honeymooner n u r comin to phuket for the first time n u r seekin a 4 or 5 star hotel n a high class treatment where would u go?1
