Budget per day in BKK?

I%26#39;m a female backpacker staying in Bangkok for several days. Would USD 50 (or around more or less THB 1500) PER DAY be good enough?

This is excluding accommodation as there%26#39;s a separate budget for that. It%26#39;s basically just for day-to-day spending such as food, transportation, sight-seeing, etc. I also have a separate budget for shopping.

Thanks!

Well I think so, although alot depends on how far you want to go, and the problem is as Bangkok has so many tempting things like market stalls and gorgeous food displayed everywhere it may be a bit harder to stay within a 50 dollar range, but having said that there are some excellent bargains like the chao phraya tourist boat is only about 100 baht, although some of the sights like the Grand Palace is far too high like 350 baht entrance. Wat Po is only 50 though and witness the reclining buddha, you can get off a pier for Chinatown and browse around. Going up to the 84th floor of the Baiyoke sky tower is also good value and get lovely views of BKK. You can get a day ticket for the skytrain and pick your things of interest to see near the stations. So like you say if you have a separate budget for shopping I think your come out on top, Good luck.

HI

Sawasdee Banglumpoo Inn location is good for you the rate around 700-800 bht. The hotel is actually very well located. It is very close to the main tourist street in the area, near khaosan road, Bang Lam Phu Market, Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan, Temple of the Emerald Buddha etc...

1500 excl accommodation and shopping is more than enough.. backpackers can survive on much less! Just follow the backpacking trail and you will be fine...

You will find backpacking that you hook up with other travellers and start to share the costs of things like tuktuks, tours etc.. and as long as you stay away from the expensive places you will be fine.. start in Khao San rd...

A great budget place in Bangkok to sleep is Shambara - have a look at www.travelfish.org for lots of great backpacking tips..

Also I have heaps of ideas in my blogs... feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
