Where to stay for 3 days in Phuket

Stopping off in Phuket on way to Singapore in 2 weeks and will be there M-Th. Going with a couple girl friends. Don%26#39;t want to be too crazy, looking for some relaxation but still things to do/food/shops. Not interested in Patong..wondering more about Karon vs. Kata vs. northern beaches near airport. Thoughts?

If you are not interested in Patong, why go to Phuket at all ? Plenty of better places with nicer beaches if all you want is a beach getaway. Go via Bangkok instead if all you want is shopping.

Is it the sleaze ? Easily avoided. Patong is as crazy or as mild as you want it to be.

If not Patong, then you may as well stay in Kata. It%26#39;s a good compromise and will not blow the budget. Nicer beach than Patong, not as confronting shopping wise, but the flipside is it%26#39;s less vibrant.

Northern beaches tend to be dearer, with less to do. Not much %26#39;near%26#39; the airport. Don%26#39;t worry about that, even Kata is only a little more than an hour away, maybe $60 USD by private taxi, less by real taxi.

Stay wherever you like, but believe me, you will be traveling into Patong anyway.

I am currently in Phuket ... have to agree with wildo. Patong is a must ... beaches are great. And, no sleaze during day time. Even in nite time, u can easily avoid it.

Staying in Patong ... try C%26amp;N Hotel. Its a very nice budget hotel with clean big rooms and toilet. Then, there are tons of five star hotels around. U have to decide on ur budget .. and then look for hotels.

We stat at Woraburi Phuket Resort %26amp; Spa.

They have a great customer service. We asked a king size through a website hotels2thailand, and that%26#39;s what we got. People are so helpful in this hotel. Location is great. It is next to souvenir markets, and close to restaurants and massage parlors. If you want to relax on the beach, you just have to go across the street. Spa is available at reasonable price (we took aromatherapy massage for $30 for one hour). Shuttle to patong beach is available for free (2 times a day). If you want to go at your leisure time, there are a lot of tuktuk in front of the hotel for a reasonable price. The downside of this hotel for me is the bed. The bed is so hard
