Which beach hotel on Patong?

Hi friends,

For a first timer which is a great %26#39; on the beach%26#39; or with a %26#39; close beach access%26#39; hotel with best amenities and great service, keeping in mind that one is also close to nightlife and shopping.

Any first hand advise is highly appreciated.

1.Holiday Inn

2.Impiana Cabana

3.Le Meridian

Thanks

Sharat

Which beach hotel on Patong?

Definitely the Impiana has the best location. Right on the beach, and very close to Bangla Road. I have had friends stay there and they loved it. A very nice hotel :)

Which beach hotel on Patong?

La Flora and Impiana are right on the beach. Holiday Inn is across the road from the beach. Le Meridien is set in it%26#39;s own %26#39;cove%26#39; just south of Patong and you need transport to and from the resort if you want shopping and nighlife of Patong.

Have only stayed at one of the three, the Holiday Inn - Loved it! Very nice - especially in the Busakorn Wing.

Great location, great swimming pool and very comfortable rooms.

I%26#39;d stay there again.

I have read on a site that Holiday Inn are undergoing renos in the Busakorn Wing from May....you might want to call and check.

Here is the link www.nhh.com.au/ftpfiles/renovations.html

As per the link, HI Busakorn villa%26#39;s are still available, already renovated. Only Busakorn %26#39;studio%26#39; rooms are not available.

Impiana has a tiny pool, but is about as on the beach as you can get. It%26#39;s just that little bit nicer bit of Patong Beach too, but only just. Not for me, as I like a big pool, and could not help but be upset by paying a premium to stay ';on the beach';, and having to share it with the great unwashed, i.e. me, last time.

Le Meridien gets it%26#39;s fair share of (perhaps unjust) bad reviews, but if not being walking distance to anything doesn%26#39;t bother you, I think it%26#39;s definitely worth consideration if you can get a good price. Pretty much a private beach.

For a first timer, Holiday Inn seems to tick all the boxes. Not my first choice, but I could be convinced to stay if the price was right.

So, as always, it gets down to your priorities. Don%26#39;t care about the pool ? Impiana or La Flora. Don%26#39;t care about the traveling by taxi ? Le Meridien.

Want a good mix in a good spot but not any one thing exceptional ? Holiday Inn.

As with any hotel, your experience good or bad often depends on the type of room, so if you can afford it, always upgrade.

I like the Amari Coral Beach.

Beautiful location and quietly stylish.
