cost of tuk tuk

I have read many times the cost of a tuk tuk from karon to patong is about 400 to 500 baht is that for each person or can a group share the cost thanks

The tuk tuks only safely hold 2 people. That price you found is the price for the two people combined on the tuk tuk, so roughly 200 - 250 per person. Have a great great time!!

there are a couple off diffrent tuttuts as in seating arrangements. i have never seen a 2 seater most are 4 and one in the front or the second holds 6 or 8 and 1 in the front. the tuttuts are all the same size on the outside dementions.only diffrence is the seating long bench seating or face to face seating you can get more people in them but you are overcrowding them.the cost you bargain for is for the car so fill it up with as many as you can get in it .last year cost was 200 to 250 bht so bargain with them and have your money in your hand it works better remember there are hundreds off tuttuts ther 400 or 500 is a rip off thats over 20 dollors one way gets expensive iff you do it a few times . kobrob

This year they were charging 400 Baht to to Patong from Karon. This was for a family of 4 but the return journey was only 300 Baht.

Short trips we have paid 200 baht for 4 people and when we stayed at the Merlin Beach Resort the trip to and from Patong price was around 300 baht for 6 people. It%26#39;s all about bargaining.

As mentioned, the price is for the tuk tuk, not per person. Check to see if your hotel provides this service. Many do, usually 3 or 4 times a day.

Karon to Patong is not a long trip. For 500 baht you should be able to get a driver to drop you off in Patong and pick you up at a pre-arranged time and take you back to Karon.

Last June we hired a tuk tuk driver for 400 baht ($12.50 Australian dollars back then) for touring all day. We only used him for 3-4 hours, but we thought that was pretty good. They supplement your fare with commissions they get from places they take you to.

I found the hardest part of it all to be convincing myself that you could get a driver that cheaply, as our first trip cost 200 baht and that was to travel 500 metres !
