When is best time to book flights for xmas from the UK

Want to paddle my own canoe this year and book flight and accom direct.Flights are looking fairly expensive at the minute around #860 to Phuket. I only want direct to Bangkok (did Qatar stopover before - nightmare) If I wait is there a chance I will get a better deal or will I run the risk of not getting the flight I want?? Also any tips on which websites offer the best deals will be most appreciated.

Book now Paddy. Book now. Demand to Thailand is tremendous during the holidays so you should book early. If you%26#39;re the exciting type, wait till May for any airline specials but I doubt it.

I agree, get your booking done. Xmas is peak season and no flights will be especially cheap. Another factor is that many travel UK-Australia via Bangkok at this time of year as well, making the London-Bangkok sector very busy.

Sorry ive got to disagree ive been to thailand last 4 years at xmas time, couple of times left it and cheaper flights have come out mid year,so i think 拢860 is expensive. But this was man to bkk which is more difficult to get cheap flights compared to london. So in my opion i would wait and keep checking each day.Ive never paid more than 拢700,also depends if you are flexible to be honest on your dates

as all others, I agree, book the flights now! But not only book, make the payments also so that you%26#39;ll get the tickets issued.

Remember to add to your reservation notes your contact details (phone, email) before the booking so that schedule changes etc can be advised to you. Recommend also to check the schedule once more some time before the departure to avoid suprises.

I travel to South East Asia 2-3 times a year both for work and Holidays, and I have found the direct London to BKK flights around Xmas is peak time for the airlines as this route flys on to Aus, so many flight seats are taken with UK people visiting relatives or visa versa. It is also high season in Thailand.

So my advice would be to look at some of the middle east airlines, like QATAR who I use regularly and recommend. It means a stop on route, but the prices can be very good. Two years ago on holiday with my wife we booked Qatar Lon-Doha-BKK-HK-Doha-London Business class for 拢1200 each, economy would have been half that price.(BKK-HK leg was with Emirates).

These prices where obtained by booking early.

HOWEVER, this is not a normaly year! predicting what prices will do in 2-6 months time is pure guess work. Prices could come down if the airlines can not fill their planes, or alternatively they could cut back on their schedules. Currently prices are very good trying to attract travellers. Example, I am flying to Delhi for two weeks then on to BKK and then back to London all for less than 拢500.(Travelling in March/April).

My advise if you can find the deal you want now, buy it now.

Get the best deal you can now. I used to work in Travel and We sold lots of long haul tickets to far east and beyond. The contract prices we were able to sell tickets for were not much different to todays best internet prices, but there were always close out dates. For example Fares to Oz from UK there was a close out period from around 18th December to 5th Jan which meant people would travel as near to these dates as possible. so the 17th December outbound flights would fill up first then 16th and so on.

My advice is ring a really good consolidator like Trailfinders and pick their brains without booking. They have access to most of the best fares and if you can get a good quote from them make a note of the dates offered then try and beat it on the internet.
