Can anyone recommend a place to stay on Lamai beach in a bungalow either on or very near the water? I would prefer something in the 100-150 USD per night range. Thanks.

I would definately recommend Thai Ayodhya Villas %26amp; Spa Koh Samui. We went at low season and so we had the place pretty much to ourselves. The staff were brilliant, Lucky, the General Manager was very attentive. The food was great as long as you stick to thai and away from the burgers. The only down point was the spa was very expensive compared to other massage places in the town. The spa was beautiful and the staff very good worth one visit but for everyday use head into town. It is about 10 min walk into town and the there is a brilliant restaurant on the corner of the main road - try the coconut soup. If you head into town in the evening go to the Irish bar for cocktails, there is a brilliant band that plays on Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri from 9:30. The apartments were very clean and traditionally decorated. I would definately go back!!!
recommend Samui Orchid Resort Very quiet and nice hotel, ideal for those people who want to relax, and enjoy a beautiful beach.
