Bangkok for 2 full days and an evening

Hello!

I will be in Bangkok from a friday evening (March 27th) till Monday early morning.

This is a part of a 3 week holiday in Asia, so I left not long time in Bangkok. I would, thought, like to enjoy it the best I can.

I thought about:

1- Going to Banglamphu area and see Wat Phra Kaeo, Granda Palace and Wat Pho and the National Museum (if it麓s too hot outside).

2- GO on a river boat to see the river market

3- Taste thai food (I will also be in Phuket for more 5 days but like to taste as varied as possible)

I know that Bangkok has it all but this is just my 1st visit there...

My questions are:

1- Places to stay (since location is very important and this seems to be a very big city).

2- What is the best way to catch a flight at 6:15 am on Monday morning?

3- Any more suggestions?

For what you want to do (No. 1 %26amp; 2), perhaps looks for a place around Khao Sarn Road would be good as it%26#39;s basically in Banglamphu area and Grand Palace, National Museum, Art Gallery, and piers are close by. However, there is no skytrain in the area. If you want to go to some where outside the area, you have to catch a bus or get a taxi. Taxi isn%26#39;t that expensive anyway, just plan your trip and try not to travel around peak time (7-9am and 4-6pm).

To catch the flight, just ask your hotel to arrange a taxi for you. Most of the time, it%26#39;s not hard to get a taxi in Bangkok.

One thing, if you have to catch a domestic flight at Donmuang Airport, make sure that the driver understand that it%26#39;s an old airport not the new one. We found this problem when trying to catch a flight at Donmuang. You wouldn%26#39;t believe that I%26#39;m a Thai, spoke Thai with the driver and asked him to take us to Donmuang Airport. On our way to the airport, I noticed that the way he was taking us to seem to be wrong so I asked him where he was going and he said the New Donmuang! ARGHHHHH!!!!
