Has anyone been to the ';After Beach Bar';?

On a drive back from sunset at the Promthep Promentary we found a restaurant outside Kata called the After Beach Bar. It was hanging off the side of the cliff overlooking Kata Noi and had the most amazing views of the sunset. We loved having dinner here just for the views and the Mai Tais! Noone has ever mentioned it on TA so I was wondering if it slipped away, it was a bit flimsy looking.

The After Beach Bar is located adjacent to the Small Viewpoint where most TA%26#39;s seem to go. I have been to both and they are very much the same offering the reggae music, tasty cocktails and lovely views.

It is a great place. But not exactly the kind of people or guests that would spend time on the Internet trying to find info on the best places. Or recommend it.

You find it. You love it. You go there.

I have been going up there since it was just a hut with a single table and two chairs. No electricity, no food. And if you wanted a drink, you could choose between beer and beer and beer from a cool box. And take a leak behind the nearest bush.

Am not going up there anymore, btw, since it has been so over exploited, like every nice spot on the island.

Thanks for that info...it was such a special place and we loved the reggae music...if we lived there, we would be regulars too. Sorry if I%26#39;ve gone and drawn even more attention to it now...oops. I have seen lots of reviews about the little Viewpoint now that you mention it, but I never realised it was there. Our waiter, ';Pod';, was such a great guy...I have 3 boys and he was drawn to us because his wife was pregnant and he really wanted a son. He wrote down the names of all the boys. These are the sort of memories my kids have taken away with them. They sometimes mention him.
