Buy bus ticket from BKK airport to Koh Chang

Hi, I want to book bus tickets for the VIP bus to get from the eastern bus station to Koh Chang.

I believe they can be purchased from BKK airport so I wanted to get them when we arrive. We%26#39;ll be really tired after the long flight so it%26#39;d be great if we had a rough idea where we should go when we arrive. I found a site where tickets can be bougt on-line but I coudldn%26#39;t see how to book the VIP bus.

We do have 2 nights in BKK before we go to KC so we could go to the bus station if necessary but just thought if we can get them from the airport while we%26#39;re there, it would be good.

Thanks for any help.

To help planning, here%26#39;s the time tables for busses:

There%26#39;s no need to buy bus tickets to Trat in advance. Go to bus station. Buy ticket. Get on bus. Frequent departures all through the day beginning at 06:00.

With all due respect, the timetable posted above is neither complete nor accurate. The Transport Company has the schedule online, but it%26#39;s all in Thai. I presume it%26#39;s current. http://www.transport.co.th/

Normal buses costing 188 baht and taking 4.5 hours depart for Trat at 06.00, 07.00, 09.00 11.00, 12.30, 14.30, 16.00, 17.30, and 24.00.

VIP buses costing 248 baht - same length of journey - leave at 07.30,11.00,22.00.

I usually take the VIP bus that leaves at 22.00.

Arrive at Trat bus station at around 4-5am. Then you can get a songteaw to the ferry or speedboat.

Involves a fairly long wait if you take the speedboats as they start running around 9am. But you dont lose a day travelling.

just want to add that you can head directly to Lamngop, a bus will drop you off at Thammachat pier. Then just take a ferry to Koh Chang. a bus from BKK available 2 times a day, around 7a.m and 9.30

most buses from BKK will head to Trat province where you need a songtaew to the pier

buses leave from Mochit(Northern %26amp; Northeastern bus terminal) and Ekkamai (Eastern bus terminal). There are many times a day from Ekkamai and a bit cheaper. do not have to book prior, you can buy ticket there

the VIP bus timetable as Bill suggested probably leave from Mochit not Ekkamai, if he%26#39;s referring from this site

This is where I found the info on the vIP bus. Is this out of date?

hotelthailand.com/kohchang/getting-there.html

Getting the bus straight to the pier would be good though. If we turn up at the bus station will the ticket office be able to advise us. We thought of catching the bus around 8.30 but it doesn%26#39;t matter if its the VIP or the 1st class (i guess both are similar)

One other thing, can we eat on the bus?

that link is not up to date. ferry ticket to Koh Chang(one way) is now around 60 Baht not 30

it%26#39;s not a problem to eat on the bus but if you%26#39;re kind enough, don%26#39;t eat durian on the bus please!

hey...

my turn now ;-)

we will arrive in BKK at the 23. of this month.

we want to find the vip bus to Koh Chang or Trat.

SO do anyone know WHERE to BY the tickets in BKK Airport and from wich terminal the bus will leave.
