Ibrik Resort by the River

I am planning a 4 day/3 nights trip to Bangkok to celebrate my fiance%26#39;s 50th birthday. Our first trip to Bangkok and would like to stay in a really special and romantic boutique hotel, preferably on the river.

I love the look of the Ibrik, but am concerned that the location will be an issue. We love to get out and about during the day and early evening (don%26#39;t mind river taxis etc)and I%26#39;m worried that access will be difficult. Has anyone stayed here recently? Was there a problem with transport, particularly during evening hours? Would hate to be stranded coming home!

Ibrik Resort by the River

It%26#39;s just hard to find and it%26#39;s your first time in BKK. Its located on the West side of the Chaophraya River. Almost taxi drivers are not familiar with the area but they would know where to %26#39;Wat Rakang%26#39; which is close by to the resort

The famous Patravadi Theatre is next to the resort as well

and if that%26#39;s not enough, The Suatra Riverhouse is just steps away

Once you get there, a location will be no more an issue. Ferry boat services are available till late night

The nearest pier is Wat Rakang pier - for a ferry boat across to Tha Chang pier (The Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew) or walk about 5 mins to Wang Lang pier(aka Siriraj pier coz it%26#39;s located in front of the Siriraj hospital). From there you have options for the Chaophraya express boat(up to Pak-Kred in Nonthaburi or down to Saphan Sathron bridge). There are also ferry boat services toTha Chang pier as well and also to Tha Phrachan pier (Thammasat University and its nearby amulet market)

A huge variety of restaurants and street food stalls are available in that area too. There%26#39;s also a local market down along the small alleys called Wang Lang market
