I did not think i would be so easily caught but on walking down the main Bangla Street, 2 french boys approached us with a free scratch card and then preceeded to do cartwheels down the street telling us we have won a free cruise, laptop or video camera.

Their seeming honesty affected us, so we agreed to go to a 90 minute presentation so we could collect our prize. That was 11.15 in the morning, we staggered out at 15.00 worn out and battered by a prolonged sales presentation from the %26#39;Absolute%26#39; company when the final price only became apparent in the last 5 minutes.

I have no doubt that everyone invovled was on the right side of legal, but we certainly feel misled and our day was put to loss.

And the Laptop, cruise or Video Camera? Not a bit of it! A feww weeks accommodation, again so bound up with strings that i doubt it could be used.

So beware and believe me when i say they are VERY convincing.

Sorry to hear you wasted a day of your holiday due to these creatures but I gotta admit I didn%26#39;t think there was anyone out there who still fell for this load of rot.

Yes very convincing but as a previous poster mentioned TIME SHARE should be the alarm that rings world wide.

Time share salesmen run their games lots of places in the world.

In Pattaya they use young ladies, on Pattaya 2nd Road and Beach Road, under the pretext of some sort of survey plus free dinner/pig roast get together, etc. They sometimes take you out in the sticks and throw a pitch at you. I just tell them they are too late and just recently bought a condo and then move on! They never tell you it is a condo pitch until you get to the banquet.

How and why would anyone fall for a timeshare sales pitch..??!! Haven%26#39;t people learned by now that they are a LOUSY investment?!!!!

Anyone duped into a sales pitch or even buying into a timeshare probably deserves it..

My hubby and I got caught on our honeymoon as no one warned us about this type of thing. Many Aussies have never heard of time share this is just something that is not done in Australia

I think most people , at one time or another, have fallen in some way for us.. we did it deliberately.. it was raining and we were bored.. what can I say! filled in a day.
