Help Ive never been to Koh Lanta and want to know the best beaches and bungalows. We are travelling on a budget so nice, clean and cheap will do. We plan to travel in April and will be coming via Phuket.

I was just on Koh Lanta last week and stayed on the southern part of the island on mai pai beach at a great place called Bamboo Bay Beach Resort. There are several budget places with bamboo huts or cabins down on that end, the beaches are beautiful (Ao Nui, Jaak, and Mai Pai), and it%26#39;s very relaxed and peaceful.
When you get to the port of Lanta, you can take a taxi to the southern end. It takes about 40 minutes by car and costs between 200-500 bhat, but it%26#39;s worth it!

From Phuket you can either travel to Koh Lanta by ferry, via Phi Phi island or road trip via Krabi and then car ferry. Either way is scenic or you could perhaps travel one way via ferries and return via road.
