Skytrain at Night

Wondering how safe it is to travel at night up until say 11.00 or is taxi a better option. Planning a sunset cruise then returning to hotel. Thanks

Skytrain at Night

In my (male) opinion, you%26#39;d be very safe in a taxi, and even SAFER on the BTS.

Skytrain at Night

MRT and BTS are safe at night: security guards at every entrance of every station.

Oh that%26#39;s good to hear. 2 females travelling and would like to do some shopping after rather than returning to hotel. First time o/s so all very new.

The BTS and MRT aren%26#39;t really affordable for Bangkok%26#39;s dregs. Also, they do a really good job of policing and maintaining the stations and trains.

BTS skytrain is one of the most efficent and cleanest transport systems I ever gone around on and I just keep me fingers crossed that it will in a few years engulf the most sought after areas and connect with the new airport well. At this moment it does quite a few %26#39;good stops%26#39; like entertainment areas, MBK and tourist boats. What strikes me theres uniformed guards on every stop and entrances and like as you dordle a couple of times I accidentally went over %26#39;near edge%26#39;line and the guards whistle out to you and a caution is had. No problem on there whats so ever I just hope it will connect Khao San Road and Chinatown soon, taxis are quite good but give yourself a real Bangkok experience use a tuk-tuk.

use the sky train till its open i think tht is midnight (same goes for Mrt/mtr)...safe and if it goes whr u have cheaper as well...other wise use the taxi (metered or if you have a vague idea of the distance bargain...) was there for 3 days used both widout any prob%26#39;s...

I always think it is safer for you to be in a vehicle like a bus or the Skytrain where other people can come to your aid if a problem comes up.

I like the Skytrain and my only complaint is that I would like it to run an hour or two later than it does now, especially when the new connection from the airport opens up. (My flights always come around midnight, too late to use the Skytrain.)

You will have no worries - the Skytrain makes Sydney trains look third world (which of course they are).

Both MRT and BTS are safe to use at night. There are guards posted at every station and even on the platforms there are guards and/or station service attendants which monitor the area.

Bangkok in general is very safe everywhere you go. I felt very safe no matter what time or place I was in.

';Bangkok in general is very safe everywhere you go.';

I might rephrase that as ';Bangkok in general is very safe everywhere [most tourists] go.

There are plenty of opportunities to get into plenty of trouble. But, if you typically stay out of trouble at home, odds are you won%26#39;t find it in Bangkok either.

';SAPHAN TAKSIN'; is the only riverside BTS stop. Make sure your cruise will let you out at the ';SATHORN'; pier, or has a ferry to it.
