To Phi Phi from Khao Lak?

If we would like to visit Phi Phi (and maybe even stay over night there) from Khao Lak, what is the best way to do this?

Should we take a taxi to Phuket (is ther ide something like 2hours from KL to Phuket?), and from there a ferry to Phi Phi? If I%26#39;m right, the car ride from Khao Lak to Phuket is much shorter than from KL to Krabi? And the ferry time about the same to Phi Phi from both places?

Hi, I%26#39;ll be doing a similar journey on my trip in April. We%26#39;re planning to get a taxi from Khao Lak to the pier in Phuket, then the ferry (1.5 hours). We considered going through Krabi but think it worked out quicker to go via Phuket. I think the ferries are at approx 8.30am and 2.30pm (and return journeys are at similar times) so you%26#39;d probably want to stay overnight, unless you arranged a private speedboat transfer.

I thought that from Phuket%26#39;s Airport the ride is about 1,5hours... And the Phuket pier is even further in the South?

I think ferry might be better than speed boat since the speed boat journey might get bit bumpy... So I%26#39;m hoping the ferries are smoother since they are bigger ;)

The fare with Cheaper than Hotel Taxi Service just up from the Nang Thong Supermarket is 1500 baht to the ferry pier on Phuket for two persons.

Its about 4hrs each way, so too much for a day trip %26amp; frankly not worth it!

We departed Nang Thong by privateminibus (8 of us in group) at 10.00am, got to Phuket Pier at 1215pm %26amp; got the 1.00pm ferry to Phi Phi, %26amp; arrived at 3pm.

I arranged an all in one minibus/ferry fare for us, from a travel shop at the bottom of Beach Road (the 1st one as you fo up from Nang Thong Bay Resort, cannot remember its name). Cannot remember exact price either as there were 8 of us.

Khao Lak Travel Center can also help with minibus/car, but do not sell the ferry tickets, whereas the other place does.

(We went to Khao Lak Travel Centrer 1st as they picked us up from airport %26amp; did Ko Sok trip for us), but we wanted ferry ticket in advance to save any dramas!
