Cheap Eats in Patong

Any suggestions for good cheap eats around Patong, especially Thai and seafood. There are 10 of us in our group and the obvious choices near the beach are pretty pricy ( especially after the prices in other parts of Thailand).

Sweets and Sabai Sabai are highly recommended. They are close to the beach, but fantastic food and great value.

If you do a search on the forum you will find many good reviews.

They are located on Soi Post Office (I think).

Also recommend the Sabai Sabai, excellent food %26amp; very cheap, we ate there for lunch nearly everyday, we were put onto this place by friends %26amp; couldn%26#39;t beleive how full it is each day. The Seahag was also great but not as cheap as the Sabai Sabai more a place for dinner.

Orchids is a favourite of ours, in the same side street as the Sea Hag, good meals and cheap

Hi

A place called ';56 ';(I THINK,ITS DEFINANTLY A NUMBER)its were all the locals eat.Top of bangla rd turn left and 2 or 3 shops down.great thai meals (pad thai 40 bart)

Have eaten so many times over the last 3 years at Sabai Sabai in laneway near Macca%26#39;s- it%26#39;s just divine and cheap! The green thai curry is magnificent. (Cheap DVD%26#39;s directly opposite there as well!) Only very small place - you should get there early or risk having to wait for a table - though turnover is very fast! Also ';Sweet'; opposite Harry%26#39;s Steakhouse. The pad thai is superb! It%26#39;s also very clean. The head waitress Tip is lovely and we became very good friends with her! No. 6 in Rat-That-Rd on left past Bangla is also small but good. Don%26#39;t eat at hotels - they%26#39;re so expensive. If you only eat at these 3, you%26#39;ll be happy! Enjoy your trip - you%26#39;ll love it!

Thanks everyone for the recommendatıons. We loved Sabaı Sabaı, Sweet and Nickys Handlebar. We also enjoyed the seafood at the nıght food market across the road and just down from Nıckys Handlebar (back towards Bangla road). The fısh here was sensatıonal and around half the prıces of places closer to the beach. Regards, Sharon

Hi thanks for the tips, I stayed at Phuket for 2 wekks and try out some of the recommended restaurants, sabai sabai was quit cheap and good, also the location near the beach was nice, some moments a bit full and have to hurry. I went also to the restaurant across sabai sabai, heared its quit a new place and I must say also deliscious food at cheap price, nice place , friendly staff, it became my favorite !

Explore the alleys across the street from the beach, walking past the street vendors. You%26#39;ll find lots of restaurants with good, cheap food in these courtyards.
